This class is designed around functional movements; focusing on strengthening, balance, aerobic capacity, and flexibility with a whole lot of FUN! Age is just a number, not a limiting factor in this adventure called LIFE!

Evidence based exercise class targeting PD specific deficits to help maintain or restore skills that deteriorate or interfere with every day movements! Classes are for all fitness levels or symptom severity. Activities range from circuit classes, PWR!Moves, boxing, Tai Chi, and alot of FUN!

Classes will include Nordic walking & hiking with a warm-up & cool-down, incorporating Urban Poles. Not all poles are created equal, Urban Poles turn walking into a total body workout by using virtually every muscle in the body. They also promote good posture, increase stability over various terrains, & off load joints to reduce pain. As a friend once said "Poles over Pills."
Urban Poles provided for use during class with option to purchase. Ongoing class membership includes same as O4L.
Enjoy the peace and tranquility of being on the water while also working on your balance and strength with the added possibly to see a wild animal or two. This adventure is for all ages and ability levels as instructors are geriatric and neurologic specialists and available to assist throughout experience. Not confident in paddling on your own, no problem, you can enjoy riding tandem with a friend or with the instructor. Private or small group outings lasting 1.5-3 hours.

Urban Poling, aka Nordic Walking, has shown to have many benefits such as decrease stress on joints, provide a full body workout, and increase calorie expenditure. Urban Poles can al aid in stability, posture, balance, confidence for walking & endurance. Workshops will be 1-2 hours long & include; an introduction to poles, walking technique(s), & trial of the poles. Urban Poles provided for use during class with option to purchase. Great for company team building events or girls weekends.
Activator poles are a great tool to add to your PT arsenal - whether for clients to use as an assistive device, for treatment in clinic or to start a new group fitness class. Learn the benefits and research for multiple diagnosis as well as the techniques and specific exercise ideas. Earn CCU's. Sign your clinic up to host a course.
